Who we are

AU Industries was created out of a desire to offer quality products and solutions at a reasonable price, with the best possible turn around time. Our aim is to become a one stop solution partner for the mining industry, whereby we can source any mining equipment or parts, including mine expansion projects, spare parts, and bespoke items for the mines. This will include offering the correct lining and coating specification, using our combined 40 years of experience in the industry.

We have also partnered with local manufactures to create custom rubber compounds, to be used in the injection moulding industry, quality rubber sheeting for the rubber applicators to apply to pipes, fittings, tanks, chutes, pulleys, agitators, vibrating screen, pumps, and any other items that may need rubber lining, along with other rubber items that we have the resources to assist with creating to our customer's needs.

Early Uses by Indigenous Cultures

Olmec, Maya, and Aztec Civilizations:

These Mesoamerican cultures were among the first to harness the latex sap from the rubber tree (primarily Hevea brasiliensis in the Amazon rainforest) for various purposes.

Rubber Balls:

Indigenous populations used rubber to create balls for their ball games, which were often religious or recreational in nature.

Waterproofing:

The latex was also used to make clothing and other items waterproof.

Other Applications:

They also used it for containers, shoes, and even to decorate canoes.
